Dubai will host the first International Conference on Green Artificial Intelligence on January 24 and 25 at the Dubai Police Academy, bringing together global experts to explore how advanced technologies can support environmental sustainability. The event is organised by the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment in collaboration with the Dubai Police Academy and Curtin University Dubai, under the theme “Harnessing AI Applications for Environmental Sustainability.”

The conference aims to strengthen the role of modern technologies in tackling pressing environmental challenges and to examine how artificial intelligence can contribute to reducing emissions, optimising natural resource use and enhancing climate resilience. It will place particular emphasis on AI-powered solutions for water and energy management, biodiversity conservation, sustainable urban development and smart environmental governance.

According to Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Bin Fahad, Chairman of the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment, the conference reflects the UAE’s strategic vision of leveraging advanced technologies to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. He noted that the programme has been designed to address critical issues such as environmental protection, sustainable development strategies, environmental policies, AI governance and practical applications of AI in climate change mitigation. Other focus areas include water and energy efficiency, smart agriculture and strengthening environmental security.

The two-day event will feature presentations and panel discussions led by local and international experts, who will share research findings and insights on environmental innovation, green AI applications, environmental forecasting, air quality monitoring and natural risk management. Sessions will also explore sustainability systems in smart cities, mechanisms for reducing emissions and the use of advanced digital tools to measure and manage resource consumption.

In addition to the conference sessions, a specialised exhibition will showcase cutting-edge sustainable technologies and AI-driven environmental solutions. The agenda also includes training workshops, student-focused activities and interactive discussions aimed at encouraging knowledge exchange and innovation. Key recommendations and outcomes from the conference are expected to be announced at its conclusion, contributing to future policies and initiatives in green AI and environmental sustainability.
